Shipibos – Our Oni Nai Family
Our Shipibo family from Oni Nai adopted us many years ago. They are a large, extended family living together in the same village, made up of siblings their children, grandparents, and elders who all carry pieces of the lineage. Each year we return to sit with them, learn from them, and bring donations and resources that help sustain their way of life, and the prayer they hold for their people and for the world. We also send ongoing support for their infrastructure so their community can continue to grow with strength and dignity.
Maestro Francisco Ventura García, known as Xaman Tsoma, has thirty-seven years of experience with medicinal plants and over twenty-five years sharing Ayahuasca in ceremonies. He carries the rank of traditional doctor within the Onanya lineage of the Mereya line and stands among the first Curacas. He is an initiator and trainer in the shamanic field, guiding many into deeper understanding of the medicine path. His daughter Tessy Ventura Sánchez, known as Kestenrama, carries the role of master healer within the Onanya lineage. She has devoted twelve years to the spiritual path and seven years to sharing Ayahuasca in ceremony. Her medicine is the sacred song, the icaro, and she walks as a teacher, trainer, and mediator within her tradition. She continues the work of her father while bringing her own presence and clarity to the healing path.
